Dr Michael S Fletcher is the Senior Trainer Consultant for Procurement and Supply Chain. He has over 20 years of experience, in providing public procurement and supply chain contracts. He has also been identified as a respected specialist in consulting and assisted in a number of start-up cooperation’s for Europe based companies, who wish to set up businesses or trade with private and state-owned enterprise companies in PRC China. 
His latest ventures involved creating a training and coaching program which uses supply chain software to train supply chain personnel how to set up real-time supply chain models then run the models through a simulation, to analyse them and optimise the operation to improve its overall performance. This programme is effective in getting supply chains to run lean and efficient and to test them in times of supply chain disruptions.

Prof. Dr. Marco Tieman is the founder of LBB International, a consulting & research firm specialised in supply chain strategy. He advises clients in the area of procurement, production and supply chain management. He has offices in the Netherlands, Malaysia and a project office in Indonesia. One of the specialisations of LBB is on halal production, halal supply chain management, and halal reputation management.

Prof. Dr Tieman is Professor at Help University (ELM Graduate School), in charge of research on halal supply chain management and halal risk & reputation management. At Help University he teaches the DBA course ‘issues in optimising operations management’, proving insight into how to organise and optimise supply chains. Prof. Dr. Tieman is also Adjunct Professor with Universiti Malaysia Pahang focusing on research on halal blockchains.

Drago Kos is currently the Chair of the OECD Working Group on Bribery in International Business Transactions, Co-Chair of MENA – OECD Business Integrity Network, member of International Anti-Corruption Advisory Board (IACAB) and of the Defence Corruption Monitoring Committee (NAKO) in Ukraine and advisor to the Kosovo Anti-Corruption Agency. Between 2011 and 2015 he used to be International Commissioner and Chair of the Joint Independent Anti-Corruption Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (MEC) in Afghanistan. Between 2003 and 2011 he was the Chairman of the Council of Europe’s Group of States against Corruption (GRECO).

Dr. Harald Sippel, MBA SFBiam FCIArb acts as a Senior Legal Advisor for Schinder Law Firm, a Founding Partner at Putilin Sippel and the Academic Director at the Bali International Arbitration and Mediation Center. With over 10 years as an international lawyer, in-house counsel and C-level executive in international organizations dedicated to dispute resolution, Harald’s main focus of work is assisting companies in avoiding and resolving cross-border disputes. He also acts as an arbitrator and mediator himself.
Harald has worked for law firms, international organizations and companies in Austria, China, Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Malaysia and is now based in Southeast Asia, from where he advises foreign investors and local multinationals. Many of his clients include companies dealing with supply change disruptions – a topic on which he frequently speaks and writes.
Harald holds degrees from the University of Linz (Magister iuris; Doctor iuris), the Seoul National University (MBA) and Queen Mary, University of London (Postgraduate Diploma in International Arbitration). He is a Senior Fellow of the Bali International Arbitration and Mediation Center and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Changing your supplier immediately may seem the best option but you should assess all risks before taking any action. There are four broad risk categories associated with a possible supply chain shift:

• Contractual risks (termination periods, notice periods, contractual penalties for contract termination, etc.)
• Compliance risks (compliance with foreign and local laws – you don’t want to be on the news for modern slavery)
• IP-rights risks (what will your old supplier do with respect to patents, trademarks, business secrets, etc.)
• Other legal risks (bribery, reputational damage to the extent that your business partners demand changes, etc.)

Each category requires different considerations and a different approach. Companies often do not spend the small money on assessing the risks and end up losing the big bucks when getting tangled up in disputes.
