Changing your supplier immediately may seem the best option but you should assess all risks before taking any action. There are four broad risk categories associated with a possible supply chain shift:
Compliance risks (compliance with foreign and local laws – you don’t want to be on the news for modern slavery)
IP-rights risks (what will your old supplier do with respect to patents, trademarks, business secrets, etc.)
Other legal risks (bribery, reputational damage to the extent that your business partners demand changes, etc.)
