This course equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to assess and respond effectively to suicide risk.
  • Understand the core concepts of suicide, including ideation, intent, capability, and the difference between self-harm and suicide.
  • Identify pathways and contributing factors to suicidal behaviour.
  • Recognize common clinical, situational, and environmental risk factors.
  • Distinguish indicators of imminent, acute, and chronic suicide risk.

  • Police officers involved in frontline response
  • Custodial and detention staff (prisons, lock-ups, holding areas)
  • Security and protection personnel in government agencies
  • Military police and SAF personnel handling detainees or high-risk individuals Community policing and outreach officers
  • School security officers and youth engagement teams
  • Emergency responders who encounter individuals in distress
  • Supervisors and team leads overseeing high-risk operational units
  •  Social service or crisis-intervention partners working alongside law enforcement
Trainer

Our Expert Trainer is the Founder & Director, ForenSights Pte Ltd Expert in Behavioural Science, Threat Assessment & Operational Psychology. She has more than 17 years of public service experience across MHA, SPF, and NCSS, specialising in forensic psychology, behavioural science, and operational risk.

A  former Principal Psychologist with the Police Psychological Services Department and crisis responder with the Police Crisis Negotiation Unit, where she handled high-risk suicide and barricade incidents.

The course will include case studies with practical, hands-on experience.
