Attending the workshop will enable delegates to develop a deep and concise understanding of the key levers for developing and implementing a fleet optimisation strategy. The acquired skill-set along the “4P”-concept will allow to re-shape your fleet in order to make it “fit for purpose” along the organisational needs and objectives, whilst optimising costs.
The course concept goes far beyond the classical “procurement” approach to optimise fleet terms. It also covers a combined view on process efficiency, vehicle policy and alternative powertrains as basis for creating a holistic approach for realizing optimisation.
The theory on fleet optimisation approaches will be enhanced by numerous group exercises based on real examples of “good and bad” procurement practices and case studies of fleet operating companies deriving from recent projects of large multi-national companies operating large corporate fleets in single countries as well as internationally
Get to know the levers of cost optimisations within the vehicle fleet on the basis of the “4P” concept:
- Procurement: learn to be successful in achieving optimised terms and conditions with your vendors (nationally and internationally)
- Policy: learn how to set the “right” policy to steer cost savings within your fleet
- Processes: learn how to shape an efficient organization to minimise process costs whilst maximising your optimisation strategy
- Powertrains: understand the opportunities for optimisation deriving from different alternative powertrains used within fleets
National, regional, global responsible in their role as:
- Category Managers for Fleet (procurement responsibles)
- Fleet Managers (responsibles for daily operations)
- Supply Chain Managers including vehicle fleet operations
- Chief Procurement Officers
- Finance and controlling
- Human Resources
- Compensation & Benefit
Course Trainer has a long-standing history in the automotive industry. He is currently the Managing Partner where he is responsible for leading and expanding the global fleet consulting business within the group. In this function, Course Trainer is in charge of heading strategic fleet programs for Top Fortune 500 companies by integrating more than 40 markets across the globe. Together with his global Partner network, he executes fleet optimisation projects with a combined fleet spend of typically USD 300-400 million on annual basis resulting in tangible cost reductions and efficiency gains for his clients. Course Trainer regular engagement in vendor negotiations for large fleet clients results in state-of-the-art industry knowledge, which builds the (pragmatic) basis to successfully “DRIVE” their fleet objectives.
Prior to this, he has held international positions at a vehicle manufacturer, fleet management providers and consulting companies. Based on his work experience for a premium brand manufacturer, Course Trainer gained deep knowledge of car manufacturers’ commercial sales strategies. As part of the international key account management team for large corporate clients, he was in charge of the international Tender Execution Management.
Whilst working in business development, sales and account management functions for an international fleet management provider he became an expert in relation to service and process management related concepts. Along the business model of a provider for outsourced fleet management services, Course Trainer created a 360 degree view on the total range of fleet suppliers, which are typically integrated by an external fleet manager. Additionally, he developed a very broad knowledge of fleet strategies across large international fleets across all business segments.
Through his consulting background, he analysed, developed and enhanced a large variety of national to global fleet strategies for fleets up to 20,000 units over the last 7 years. Based on those experiences, he developed the “4P”-optimisation concept, which represents the underlying structure of the course “Vehicle Fleet Management Cost Optimisation”. This approach reflects the basic concept, when working on fleet optimisation scans for Fleetcompetence’ clients and thus is 100% workable.
